20 years of Love ~ Pearce Vow Renewal!

What an exciting wedding that I had the pleasure to assist with. Usually I’m hired to when a couple is first uniting in sacred matrimony. This was the first time I had the pleasure of working a renewal of vows. It was so exciting to know that not only do dreams come true but also last!

From the moment I met Andrea who owns Pearce & Pinkerton Insurance Agency, I knew she was going to be a great bride. She was organized, knew exactly what she wanted and the couple was ready to party the night away. This wedding was in deed, about renewing the vows they had spoken to each other 20yrs ago, back in the 80’s but it was also more about the celebration of their life together and getting the party started.

The theme was Disney and the color was whimsical white and Wedgwood blue, just as it had been back in their 80’s wedding. The Pearce couple said something to me that was very true. They said, when they got married 20 yrs ago, they didn’t really get to enjoy the whole reception because it was so much about taking pictures, greeting their guests and going through all the steps of a first time marriage. This wedding was going to be different. There ceremony and reception took place at Benvenuto Restaurant in Boynton Beach. The ceremony was short and quaint. James sister, Marcy Pearce had the pleasure to officiate the ceremony. I think she cried more than the couple. After the ceremony, guests were lead to a fun cocktail hour where they had a photo booth set up for guests. People started to get their party on, right from the start. After the cocktail hour, guests were lead to the reception room. There we had an introduction to the bride and grooms family and the first dance was a well rehearsed tango. Andrea and James looked so happy and excited, although I know they were nervous, they pulled it off with out a glitch.

The rest of the night was all about the party. Pure Platinum provided the DJ, Photo booth and dancers. Last but not least, they had a custom slide show that had memories from the past 20yrs of their happy life together. It was really beautiful and everyone really enjoyed looking back in time and how far along they had come.

Twenty years is a long time to be together, it so wonderful to see couples celebrate that. Instead of taking a long vacation, the couple decided the best anniversary gift was to throw a bash and share it with their closest friends. Being a bride to be at this point, Andrea and James are such an inspiration. I hope they inspire you to celebrate every year and they are proof true love does last and it is real!

Andrea & James: Congratulations on such an amazing milestone in your love! Hope to be there and assist in your 40th year anniversary! Wishing you a continued life of love and happiness!

Elizabeth & Frank ~ THE IRON COUPLE!

Elizabeth and Frank were made for each other! They really complement each other’s personalities and have such a fun time together. They love to run, cycle and swim together. They even joined the IronMan competition in Arizona. Can you believe that? While planning their wedding they would train 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening, talk about dedication!

Their wedding ceremony was at United Methodist Church in Coral Gables and their reception at Miami Springs Country Club. Elizabeth was so emotional the whole time, I mean the whole time. Literally at the end of the night she still kept crying when one of her friends or family members hugged her. She was too cute! I kept telling her it's a happy day, no more crying but what can I say....she was overwhelmed with all the love in the room :0) My favorite part of the night had to be their entrance to the Rocky soundtrack, definitely fit for them!

Elizabeth & Frank: it was truly my pleasure to be part of your wedding day. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love! God Bless you!!!

"Melissa,
Thank you so much for all you did to make our day perfect! You are an amazing person & awesome coordinator. Best Wishes to you!
We are so grateful!
Love,
Elizabeth & Frank"

Marriage Classes

Being in the wedding industry we see couples get married day in and day out. The wedding day is wonderful and couples are so in love. What would be most full filling is that they stay in love for years to come! We believe in love but we also believe a relationship takes work and is a counscious effort that needs to be worked on every day.

Usually, when you marry by church they require classes but if you marry else where you are not. I would encourage that all couples not only take classes or workshops prior to their marriage but every year if possible. In this crazy life and a million distractions, we tend to take the things or people who mean most to us for granted. My greatest pleasure, would be for all that get married to be together not only forever but HAPPILY forever.

Eddie Rodriguez a very well known Reverend in the South Florida community offers workshops for couples. Below is an email I recieved about one of the workshops he offers:

"Conscious Relationships
Living and loving consciously
You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be in a relationship that is healthy,
happy and exciting. You and your partner can create a relationship that will bring
you all that you desire.
Do you realize we always get what we are committed to?
Our focus and attention is what calls forth what we experience and how we
experience it. A relationship that is based on genuine love, mutual support, and integrity is something we all strive for.
We all long to be held in the arms of our beloved and being loved just as we
are. Too many of us experience relationships as being difficult and challenging.
I believe that given the right tools and concepts we can enter into
relationships that will serve our highest thought about who we can become in relationship with another.
It is possible to love and be loved without pain and drama.
It is possible to create a life-long partnership with our partner in a way that
will satisfy all of our desires and needs.
Do you know what the real purpose of relationships are?
Do you understand what is meant by a conscious relationship?
Do you experience love or fear being in relationship?
Do you sabotage your relationship?
Do you allow resistance to keep you from being happy?
Find the answers to these questions and much more.
Our purpose in giving these classes is not to reach perfection but to become
conscious, aware of who we are and what we are doing with our lives, to love consciously and deliberately.
Eddie Rodriguez will lead a group of couples through a wonderful journey of
conscious creation. Explore concepts and learn tools to empower you and your partner. Get "unstuck" and move through issues that keep you from enjoying the peace that a conscious relationship can bring. You will be given an opportunity to look at Love, Sex, Money and Beliefs and how to blend these with your partner. Work with your partner to create a loving, harmonious relationship that will bring you unlimited joy, peace and understanding. This fun four hour class will consist of lectures, meditations, individual and group exercises. This class is perfect for those who are about to marry and for those who are married. Relationships are constantly growing and changing, attending this class will provide you with renewed commitment and enthusiasm. Allow yourselves to be inspired as you head out on your greatest adventure."

Anji & Phillip’s Wedding

When Melissa and I first met Anji and her mother Linda it was an instant click. They were fun, vibrant and full of excitement to plan the wedding. Anji was a dream bride come true. She knew her colors (pumpkin, chocolate & cream), had her direction. On that meeting, Anji told us
about her very special fiancée who is a Master Sergeant in the United States Army with close to 21 years of committed service. He at the time was stationed away and was waiting to arrive back home to be with Anji. We began with emails to Anji and(mom), with Phillip as a cc. He sounded so excited just on email; I felt such a warm sensation with him and had not even met him yet.

The planning began and before we knew if we were at Nov. 8th, the big day!!! Judy & I had the pleasure of working this wedding together. It was such a blessed day with a gorgeous outside ceremony. Often the ceremony goes a bit unnoticed and all attention is focused on the reception, but this ceremony was different. It included Phillip walking down the aisle spreading blue roses for Anji to walk on, two amazing singers, a beautiful runner, flowers, sand blending ceremony, fans for the ladies and of course the bride and groom. Carlos who is Anji’s brother and best friend was her “maid of honor”, Phillip had his sweet son PJ as his best man. After the ceremony ended it was time to get the party started. Guest entered the reception room with their seating card candles lighted up and placed them on the tables to add that romantic accent to the tables. The grand reception room filled with chocolate linens and pumpkin accents all over set the mood for the night, it was romantic and elegant. Anji and Phillip looked so happy, excited and ready to enjoy the night.

The wedding was so very special. It included everyone from parents, Phillips son PJ, Anji’s sorority sisters and sorority parents. It was a perfect gathering to a perfect day. Once the dancing started, it was pretty difficult to get Anji and Phillip off the dance floor. I really think they had a wonderful night, Anji was a dream bride to have and Phillip was such a great support as a groom which is what every bride needs.

Congratulations to the Reese’s, may God keep blessing you every step of the way and thank you for having Events On A Budget be part of that special day.
