~ Stand up to Cancer ~

In this day and age, I’m sure we all know of someone we care about that either has been diagnosed with cancer, a cancer survivor or has died because of cancer. On Friday, September 5th at 8pm (EST & PST) the three major networks, ABC, CBS & NBC will air Stand Up To Cancer, a star-studded television event to raise money for cancer research. This money is not targeted for one specific cancer, but for all types of cancer. This will be a live telecast from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

Personally, I have someone I DEARLY LOVE who is currently battling cancer. My prayers, love & thoughts are with her every single day!! My prayers are also with all cancer patients and their families.

Prayer:
We pray for all those undertaking chemotherapy "chemo.” the use of medicines or drugs to treat disease, that the Lord will work out His perfect will in your situation and bring about healing. We ask that The Great Physician will heal all those that have undergone surgery and radiation therapy and that the fire of God will destroy all the cancer cells. We speak peace to all the patients and ask the healing virtue of Our Lord God will flow through every vein, tissue, cell, ligament and that healing will manifest. We believe that Gods desire is manifest in your life. His desire is written in 3 John 2 “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along”. We speak peace to all the families having cancer patients. We speak uncommon provisions to cater for all the expenses needed to take care of the patients. We destroy every generational curses and declare that they will not continue but the blessings of God will overshadow each and every one of you. We are in agreement with Gods word in Jeremiah 30:17 “ But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds declares the LORD.” So be it, in Jesus Name.

Incense and Candles, Laughter and Dance!

Those words all describe my wonderful Arabian themed Bridal Shower! Honestly, I can't believe the day already came & went... it was a wonderful night, which I shared with the people whom are most important in my life! (some of which could not make it but were definitely there in spirit) I chose an Arabian theme because I wanted to be technically correct when incorporating Moroccan traditions, Indian traditions and Pakistani traditions. My mom's boyfriend is from Pakistan and he is such a huge part of our family and my life! He is such a wonderful person and I am sooo thankful GOD brought them together.

I really tried to be as authentic as possible but of course with some modern twists! I worked very hard on every single detail and really hope my guests enjoyed my shower! For favors I wanted to give something nice but useful. I ordered lacquer incense holders and incense from India. The favor tags were custom made and each guest had one personalized with their first name. In order to help my guests learn the culture, I made each table name with a different tradition. I put a picture and a meaning, so they not only could see but also understand what everything meant. We had typical Indian food, which was SUPER yummy! I also had traditional mehndi which is usually done on an Indian bride the night before her wedding. That was a hit! Everyone enjoyed getting the beautiful intricate design on their hands and feet. My dress was a Sari, which I had custom made to fit my style! The games we played, were also done to incorporate the culture. We did belly dancing and an Indian wedding dress design contest. The belly dancing game was my favorite! Instead of having people volunteer to play games, I closed my eyes and chose people from my seating chart. This definitely made things more interesting. I wasn't to sure about getting the Hookah, since most my family and friends don't smoke. I was very glad I did! This was another fun and interactive thing my guests enjoyed and so did I!
Last but not least, I had a very special Belly Dancer perform, Casandra. Marc’s niece! She has been taking classes for a few years & it definitely showed. She was amazing! Thank you so much sweetie for taking the time to choreograph this dance. You did an amazing job!!!

At the end of the evening my super handsome fiancé, showed up wearing a gold Salwar Kurta. He definitely looked like a Prince!!!

I am so happy with the way everything turned out! My cake was fantabulous!!! Rosie from http://www.eleganttemptations.com/ custom designed the cake, inspired from my invitation. It not only looked beautiful but also tasted super yummy!!! THANKS ROSIE! I love the way my make up and hair looked, thanks to Lisa Lee from http://www.alluringfaces.com/ I felt very beautiful! THANKS LISA! Of course, the night could not have been remembered so vividly without the talented Loly from http://www.lolypix.com/ taking so many pictures. THANKS LOLY!!!

Thank you to my family and friends, that help set up the morning of my shower! A VERY special Thank you to my mom for helping me put this all together and running around with me any chance we got!!! (you to Feroz :0 ) !

I can't believe my wedding is around the corner..... IT STILL HAS NOT HIT ME THAT IT'S MY TURN! Hopefully it won't hit me when the church door's open because who knows what will happen... to be cont...... STAY TUNNED!

Laura's Birthday

On Sunday my girlfriends & I got together to celebrate our dear friend Laura's Birthday. She wanted a quiet breakfast just with the girls. (no boyfriend, husbands or significant others..:0) JUST THE GIRLS for some catching up! She chose Green Street at the Grove because of their great breakfast & atmosphere. As I arrive, I see news station cameras & just a ton of people. Come to find out Rudy Guliani was on his way there.

Just when we had sat down for breakfast he made his arrival. He walked to a few tables & also made his way to ours. (I guess the 7 HOT girls at the table caught his attention). I took a quick picture while he was shaking our hands. All I can say is so much for an uneventful & quiet breakfast with the girls. Either way, we still had a great breakfast together. It is always so nice to get together & take a break from our crazy & busy lives.

Laura HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETIE! WISHING YOU MANY BLESSINGS FOR THIS NEW YEAR! LOVE YA!

To my girls: I love you all very much also!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Christmas is coming! So many countless blessings to be Thankful for throughout the year. I am Thankful for so many things & just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Here is a beautiful story I would like to share from my Daily Bread book:

I read about a young couple whos business had failed, and they had little money to spend at Christmas. They were going to have to move out of their house after the new year. But they didn't want their holiday season to be spoiled because of it. So they decided to throw a party. When the guests arrived, they saw a cedar tree decorated with one string of lights and small rolled-up pieces of paper tied to the limbs of the ribbon.

"Welcome to our 'blessing tree'!" they said, beaming. "In spite of hard times, God has blessed us in so many ways that we decided to dedicate our tree to Him. Each piece of paper decribes a blessing He has given us this year"

The couple has faced more trials since then, but they have chosen to stay focused on the Lord. They often remark that the Christmas with the "blessing tree" was one of their most beautiful, because they could testify as Mary did: "My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior…He who is mighty has done great things for me" (Luke 1:47-49)

Whatever your difficulties, they needn't spoil Christmas, for nothing can spoil Christ! Stay focused on Jesus and seek ways to share His blessings with others-perhaps through your own "blessing tree."

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES!

Here is a picture of our beautiful Christmas Tree!
