It is sometimes said that long distant relationships can’t work but after being part of Nailah and David's planning and wedding, I completely disagree! My super sweet & very sassy bride Nailah and her wonderful hubby David have traveled all over the world together and also had to be in different parts of the world while planning their fabulous Miami wedding. Through it all they have endured their love and commitment to each other with an even greater connection to one another. Nailah wasn’t in Miami most of the planning but we always kept in contact and made her feel that she was here, by emails, phone calls and whatever else it took to get things done. Nailah was so daring with her bold color choices of red, purple and deep pink but it all paid off in the end because when it all came together, it was absolutely stunning!!!
Nailah and David exchanged vows on the 11th floor of The Sky Terrace, on a day with perfect Miami weather. The sounds of Spanish guitarist Bob Folse, flowed in their air which set a perfect tune for this wedding. Right behind where the bride and groom exchanged vows was a very big and lush tree that was adorned with white lanterns, candles and long beads of swaroski crystals that swung when the wind blew. After the ceremony guests were invited to a cocktail hour also hosted outdoors where they had a spectacular view of Brickell, Downtown Miami and a gorgeous sunset which was a very memorable moment.
Once everyone was welcomed to the reception in The Sky Lobby things sped up and people where in full party mode. The room was completely draped from floor to ceiling with white fabric and there was purple uplighting surrounding the room, perfect party mood décor. There was a mix of round tables with fuchsia linens which had purple napkins for contrast and squared tables with purple linen which had pink napkins, very hot mix! There were a few different types of center pieces but each one was extremely special in its own way. The accent color was black and it tied it all together perfectly. Astrid and Renee Photography and My Treasure Films were there to capture all the vivid details of the entire day.
The party was going till the very end of the night. PMP Productions kept the whole family moving with his mix of Soca, reggae, and just good old dance tunes. I love to see a family that really loves each other but also likes to party together!
If I had to choose my one favorite moments of the day, besides seeing Nailah in her stunning gown, I would have to say it was when David decided to take the mic and share a few words. He addressed his new wife and his new family and his own family. He spoke from the heart and really moved the whole room.
It was an amazing joy working with these two love birds. We were honored to have been part of the planning and their fabulous wedding day! May their love grow deeper and deeper each day!! xoxoxoxo
"I have so much praise to give. There were so many ups and downs during my planning process including losing my father, but they were there every step of the way. They helped me to plan the wedding of my dreams, recommended amazing vendors, kept me on budget (which was a really difficult job! lol), and guided me through my confusion, frustration and (frequent) bouts of indecision. I cannot say enough about them as people and planners. The day of the wedding everything flowed so smoothly were like a magical fairies floating around making everything perfect. Hiring Events on a Budget was THE best decision ever (well other than saying yes to the most amazing man in the world :) "
